Can you believe this was not photographed in a national park? This elopement was actually at Sand Hollow State Park in Southern Utah! It’s hard to choose just one location when Utah is filled with so many beautiful locations! But if you’re looking for views just as spectacular as the Utah mighty 5 national parks and want to save some money, consider eloping in one of our state parks instead!
The price will vary per state park, but at most, you are looking at around $60 for a permit. Sand Hollow doesn’t have wedding permits specific to the park. But if you plan on having more than just a few guests, you’ll need to contact the park. You’ll have to submit an Utah Division of Parks and Recreation Special Use Permit Application. The permit has to be applied for at least 30 days before your wedding.
We started K&J’s day by with them getting ready at their AirBnb. We took some getting ready photos and portraits outside. Their AirBnb had that beautiful southwestern architecture and the most gorgeous roses blooming!
Once we got to Sand Hollow, K&J said their vows to each other as the sun set over them. They chose a secluded spot on the beach of the reservoir. Afterwards, we explores the rocky cliffs and took some photos into blue hour before the sun set all the way. When the sun did finally set, we headed over to the campsite they rented, and got a fire going and roasted some marshmallows and made s’mores to celebrate!
K&J’s elopement at Sand Hollow State Park in Utah was simple but so incredibly beautiful and fun! But if you wanted to kick it up a notch in the adventures, Sand Hollow is the PERFECT place to do some UTV’ing! You can also do boating, sand boarding, paddle board on the reservoir, or even just jump in the water and go for a swim! There are so many fun things to do in this gem that’s just an hour from Zion National Park.
