Essen and Brayden chose to do their first look wedding photos at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. If you have never been to the Salt Flats, that they are about 2 hours West of Salt Lake City, just outside of Wendover, Nevada.
We met at the Salt Flats an hour and a half before sunset and drove out onto the flats. There are good spots for photos next to the rest area, however, I recommend driving onto the salt flats. If you can drive onto them, then you get closer to the mountains and can have a more private experience.
Once we picked a spot, I got my pop up changing room set up, and Essen changed into her dress! When she was ready, I set Brayden facing towards the mountains so he couldn’t see Essen just yet. That was she could come up behind him and we could really get his reaction when he first saw her.
As soon as they were ready, I had them turn back to back. On the count of three, they turned around and saw each other for the first time in their wedding attire. Brayden had the absolute sweetest reaction to seeing his beautiful bride for the first time. They both had pure love and excitement all over their faces!
After taking in seeing one another for the first time, they danced together and said some private words between them.
The sky changed between different hues of blue to a cotton candy pink and light purple, before the sun all but disappeared.
At last as the sun was setting, we got out the lanterns that I always have with me and had some fun with them during blue hour!
