This Park City snowy elopement has hands down been one of my favorites. M+D contacted me right before I was about to hop on a plane almost two weeks before Christmas last year, and told me they wanted to elope on top of snowy mountain in Park City on New Years Day. They had a very simple elopement, but it definitely didn’t lack elegance or a good time!
M+D started their day off with getting ready at their condo they were staying in on their trip. It DUMPED snow the night before and the day of, which made for an exciting adventure. I couldn’t even get up the hill to their condo! But the great thing about Park City near Main Street, is that there are stairs to go up and down the mountain. So, I parked at the bottom of the mountain and made my trek up to their condo.
Once I got there, M was getting her hair and makeup done by Brianna B Beauty (one of the absolute best), and she offered me goodies to warm up with. After M+D were ready to go, we all made the trek back down the stairs and drove over to Canyons Village. Our first stop was to the Umbrella Bar, a really cool après ski bar in Canyon Village that is a unique yurt-like structure that has full glass walls for 360-degree panoramic views.
After the Umbrella Bar, we hopped onto the Red Pine Gondola and headed up the mountain. This was the first time I had ever been on a gondola, and it was one of my favorite experiences yet! It was so cool getting to see the mountain covered in snow, when I normally wouldn’t get to because I don’t ski or snowboard (yet!).
Once we got off the gondola, we found a spot on the mountain where there weren’t a lot of skiers but had a beautiful backdrop of pine trees covered in snow. However, once we got there, a bunch of skiers came by. They were all really cool though, and most of them congratulated M+D. I think it was a unique experience for the skiers as well!
It continued to snow pretty hard during their ceremony, but it was so beautiful! We headed over to the Red Pine Lodge to warm up and sign the marriage license after M+D’s ceremony. Then we got on the gondola and headed back down the mountain and over to Main Street. We stopped in at No Name Saloon and had a couple of drinks to celebrate! And fun fact, M+D got me to take my first shot with them! I had literally never taken a shot before then haha. We hung out at the saloon and celebrated for awhile, and it was the best ending to a perfect day.
If you are thinking about having a winter elopement, Park City is hands down the perfect location for you. You can’t beat the snow, mountain views, or immaculate vibes. Therefore, you are guaranteed a good time and the best snowy elopement in Park City!
